Thanks to John for posting this helpful thread.

As Secretary, I'm negotiating the venues for the calendar and hope to be publishing a final calendar after this weekend, which will let every one get planning their summer season!

Once I've got responses from the clubs I'm waiting on (you know who you are!) then we'll have our venues sorted.

I'm busy working on the minutes from the AGM (waiting on approvals now) and from there we'll get the rules for 2011 finalised and published here in the next few days.

SORC Constitution is also nearing completion and that should be distributed for approval tonight or tomorrow, and will also be published once its been Committee approved.

As John has mentioned, DATES ARE FINAL. We will not be changing these.
The venues may be altered or swapped around, but any and all venue changes will be posted here. Be assured, the Dates won't change.

The Season starts on April 10th and after a great weekend at the iGP, I think we are all looking forward to a great 2011. I for one can't wait to get started.

I take it that we will be running 2wd and 4wd mixed?

Both 2WD and 4WD will compete on the same day (Sunday), but they'll run in separate heats and finals.

Of course, I'm reading from my unapproved notes from the AGM. Once I have them approved by the committee, I'll be publishing a full set of rules and regulations, etc, so I'd like to ask everyone to please be patient and wait for that.

It'll be ready in a couple of days I expect.

David,

There will be two championships, 2wd and 4wd, both run on the same day (sunday), to try and encourage as many people as possible to run both classes.

Hi John/Dom,

Although I'm trying to get things moving with regards to holding a round at Stonehaven, I'm not actually in any kind of official position with SDRCC. I have been posting on our forum and offering to act as a go between if the other guys are busy, but still dont really know if anyone has been in touch, although I think Dom said Alex had been. If not, I can try and speed things up at our end.

I also have concerns about not being able to use tyres as track markers, as we use a lot of them up here. Is this definately a rule for this year?

Unfortunately, my "Wall of Death" is indoor only (carpeted) so it wont be making an appearance in our outdoor racing, but I may plan other things if I can get some pennies from the club.

Looking forward to round 1.

Are the Falkirk rounds outdoors? I love the mud me!

According to Derek Kerr as long as you put something ie a hose around the tyre (like what you do at stoney) then the tyre is no longer the thing marking the track the hose is.
In short you can use tyres as long as you contiune to do as you have been

Try & make track no narrower than 2.4meters as stated in the BRCA rules

All the falkirk rounds aim to be outdoor as long as I don't see Noah building an ark. I'm trying too see about holding a Falkirk/NORA collaboration at the indoor GP venue creating a bigger & more off-road track. Personally i think this venue deserves a place in the SORRC calendar as it would add another dimension to our regional championship.
