they are an option part ( which is nice n cheap) to give more droop you will have to remove 3mm off of its lenth to equal the standard rear droop

tips wise not a lot only to get a few alloy parts to strenthen the front end tungsten carbide or ceramic diff balls and boil ya plastics to make them a little more flexible, the setups i run are posted in this section but run a diff and oneway layshaft in the front as it makes the car a little easier to drive i have spent a lot of time trying to get a good no roll bar set up for the car but 9 times out of 10 go back to the stotfold set up as it is a safe bet on 90% of tracks. if you have any build questions or setup help needed please ask
nathan

Hi nathan,
what front end parts do you replace in alloy??....and why change the diff balls..are the standard ones dodgy!!?? I bought my zx5 as a new build..it has titanium turnbuckles, screws, atomic carbon shock towers, and centre deck, alloy front d piece.shim removed from the front d piece,10 degree front hubs,40 wt oil in the front yellow springs...30 wt oil in the rear blue springs.....does this seem ok?? cheers simon. |

hi simon,
the front end parts are the shock mount mount, youve allready got the carbon front shock mount use the kit one with it as a sandwhich this makes the front very strong, the diff balls theyll be allright for a meeting maybe 2,but deffo needs replacing,as for setups have a look at the stotfold setup you wont go far wrong just change one way diff for one way layshft and diff, trekkker(stu)

After two months, is Stotfold set-up still for you the safest set-up for a 'common' ZX5 driver as me ? Furthermore, I took your Stotbold set-up sheet in the 'set-up thread', is it still relevant ? Another short question. Which type of grease should I put in the diff cases : asso white or black or another one...? thanks in advance for your help. hi there bruno, for set ups it depends on the surface you are running on but recently we have changed the setup on the car to the oswestry setup which seems to make the cars transiton to diferent surfaces alot easier. some people cant get up the whole setup on here so if you sufer the same fate then start with the batley set up as this is nearly the same. you will find that the car comes out of corners alot easier but will still get in the same as usual. on my diffs i use associated clear but on the gears iv just started using a tamiya teflon grease after someone recommended it to me so will report on that after a few more meetings

Thanks Nathan for your help. I will try and keep you informed. Another short question. In most of your set-up sheets front spring are softer than rear ones which seems to me not so common (normally on other cars, it is the opposite). What is the reason of this ? Due to the pack configuration ?
