Anyone have a problem with the shocks leaking on the Cougar? A few guys have bought them at our local track and we are all having the same problem. Is there a fix?

Never had a problem to be honest but I have always used associated o rings as I heard the kit ones weren't great.

I've never had any trouble with my son’s shocks on his cougar although I did notice some white powdery stuff inside were the seals fit. I gave them a good clean with a tissue dampened with shock oil. I would strip them and clean out were the seals fit and try again. Hope this helps. |

Maybe I should try the AE rings. Thanks.
Its also worth noting the car is Brand New and I run indoors on carpet.

Yes his vehicle was from a kit. So was mine... From new. He paid for his to be built... and I built my own.
Chris had the problem where the purple bottom cap (by the shock shaft) came undone.

Mine leaked, so I took the purple collar off and found some traces of carpet had managed to get into the seals.
Once this was removed they were fine, worth a check! |

I was thinking same thing about the carpet.
Yeah the front one came unscrewed although the rear was leaking with the cap still on and secure. Just rebuilt them hope they stay dry ![]()

I built mine and chris's a week apart. When i built mine i used Green slime and had a front shock leak. With chri's i decided to go the soak in shock oil method. And he had leakage... If i can get my hands on some ill try the blue trf tamiya orings...

tamiya blues would make it leak even worse.

Use th green slim, tighten the catrige cap with pliers and is doesn't leak. Tightening by hand doesn't do it.

Their problem is that the lower purple cap you see behind the springs doesn't thread all the way to the top like mine did. Our LHS owner said he was going to look into it and get them new caps.

For what ever reason the front of Chris car came with Mi4 caps:
