x pro question

hi guys,

im new to the sport and have got myself an x pro,i have upgraded the rear hub carriers to alloy along with alloy hex's, the problem i am having is that when i tighten the wheel nuts the cvd's will not turn?

do i need to replace the cvd's or is there a fix i can try first

Hi mate,
I don't own an Xpro but I do have an x4 pro with aluminium hexs. If these hexes are the shallow ones, the hex socket on the wheel pushes tightly against the hub (if you use wheels with a deep hex fitting).

You can either:
Put a 2mm spacer in front of the hex to move the wheel outwards
Sand the hexes on the wheel down to make it shallower.

thanks for the help chris, but i dont think it has anything to do with the hex's as i put the stock hub carriers back on and used the alloy hex's and it works ok.

Did you have any trouble pushing the bearings into the aluminium hubs? if the holes aren't perfectly circular then it could change the shape of the bearing, preventing proper rotation.

Hi I am Andy from ansmann racing TEAM austria ,

this is not a stupid question.

If you are using the alu hubs , the cone of the cardan axle will cut into the hub, if you tighten the hex.

For your alu hubs take a deburrer or mill the hub from the inside.

Don`t use the spacers, which are included in the hex pack. There is a little play, that you need, because of braking into turn.

Now you can thighten the hex, and you can feel a big improvement on your car.

andy, i will give that a go, jusy need to find someone with a mill now
