Hi all,
I'm very sure this has been covered on here many times but I can't find any info on this. I'll try and explain as best as I can. I had a DF03 with Futaba 40Mhz radio gear in it. Worked 100%. No problems whatsoever, no glitching and massive range!!! I now bought a truggy, nitro converted to brushless, running the mtroniks G2 beast combo and a cheap Hextronik servo. Now all of a sudden my truggy will start to go mental at about 10 - 15m. It will just do things all by itself, turn, reverse and so on. The range on the Futaba gear should be about 400m. Anybody got any ideas??? Could it be the cheap servo or is it possibility that the metal on metal gear is causing interference? I have a steel pinion running on a steel centre spur gear. Another question if I may, If I get 2.4Ghz radio gear, will this fix my problem??? I am thinking about getting 2.4Ghx radio gear anyway. Thanks in advance. P.S. Excellent website and forum. |

Interference is usually caused by the motor interfering with the receiver. Move the receiver and antenna as far as possible from the motor. Also keep all of the power wires away from the receiver and antenna, and don't coil any wires up on or near the receiver.
2.4Ghz basically eliminates interference so is a very good idea. If you're running 2.4Ghz and your car still does something strange, you then know its something like a faulty servo or ESC. |

Receiver and antenna is as far away from the motor and esc as phisically possible. There is no wires coiled anywhere near the receiver. The steering servo wires is coiled seperate from the receiver but the antenna cable runs with it. I'll change the route for the antenna cable and see if it makes any difference.
I'll keep you all up to date and thanks for the replies so far. |

Returned my old servo today and the bloke gave me a full refund
![]() Still searching the net to find a decent servo. This is for my VTX ST-1 (HBX VRX-1 in the UK) steering servo. Is the Power HD servos any good? Seems to be excellent spec but really cheap. This one: http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=35546 Then there is the Ace 1015. Everybody seems to rate this as an excellent servo. Only problem is they are sriously expensive. Next up is the Savox SC0252. Also read mostly good reviews about this servo and is a bit cheaper than the Ace. Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Cheers. Jan. |

Hi, yes I eventually sorted it. Was a bit of a headache but worth it in the end. I am now running an external battery pack for the Savox steering servo and I mounted the aerial on the plastic battery box. This didn't help either. I did some testing and found that everything works fine with just the steering servo running on the external battery pack and as soon as I connect the speed controller it goes mental. I then rang mtroniks and explained this to them and they sent me a signal booster free of charge. This seems to have fixed the problem. With the bad weather I've not tested it properly yet but I've run it a good 30 to 40 metres from me with no issues whatsoever. Just need to test it on track now. I'm running it on 2 x 7.4v lipo packs and this thing is seriously quick. I'll put some more photos up soon. Hope that helps.
