Default Spektrum sr3000 queries

Hi

I've just purchased 2 second-hand sr3000s.

The top antenna wire has gone.

I'm assuming that I can just solder some wire in place? Have other people experienced the same problem.

Also can I bind the receiver with a non-spektrum transmitter? How successful is this?

Ta

Naushad

Replace the wire with the correct type and length which I think is explained on the Spektrum website somewhere (sorry I can't remember either).

Not sure how successful binding with non Spektrum gear would be. It's not like the old days were the signals were carried in the form / shape of the radio waves with 2.4GHz it is carried in data packets like a wireless computer network. As far as I know there is no agreeed "standard" for these packets and most manufactures use something unique because they think it's the best way and also it means you have to buy all your kit of them!

Default Thanks Roger!

Thanks, once i get them sorted I'll give it a try. If it doesn't work I'll invest in a spectrum transmitter.

Is it normal for the receiver's green light to flash on and off when the battery connector?

Thanks

I think that means it can not find the transmitter it is bound to and is going into rebind mode. Not 100% sure as never seen it on any of mine!

For info, you can of course use a KO / Futaba / Sanwa / Hitec Etc handset fitted with a Spektrum Brand Transmitter Module so you are not tied to a Spektrum handset if you have a preference to other manufacturers gear.

If you can get your spektrum receivers working with non spektrum transmitters, then let us know will ya? Like other people have said though, I don't think it will. Even using 27 and 40 mg crystals, you can get problems using different makes of radio gear, 'cos even if there was an agreed standard, every companies machine is probably going to be configured slightly differently.

Hmmm looks like like I'll need to get a spektrum transmitter!

I've got a flysky 2.4ghz transmitter...I don't think it will work!

Look here, this will advise you on what your options are with regards alternatives (It doesn't mention your radio) but there are a good selection of other radios available which will accept a spektrum module.

Or you pick up a Spektrum transmitter.
