Hi All
My hands are a bit arthritic so I am looking to get a small electric screwdriver and some hex imperial attachments to go with it. Can anyone recommend anything? Does anyone use one already or is it a really bad idea? Cheers Dave |

I got one along with the long shaft EDS tips and it has been a real investment.
It needs to have variable speed so that you can set it nice and slow or it will melt the plastic on deeper screw holes and if it has torque settings it really makes working on the car a lot nicer. Hitachi make a nice one that costs a fair bit but any of the better power tool companies have them. |

I can highly recommend a Makita DF010DSE over the Hitachi, much better build quality and it has auto stop on the motor to save wear and tear on the clutch, you get two batteries with it too.
I got mine from http://www.itslondon.co.uk/ on offer for about £65, it's disappeared from their site now and I can't see it anywhere else for less than £130 ![]() |

I use the panasonic EY7410LA2S31. I use it in work but also on my cars and it's been great. Like you dave i have problems with my hands and this has helped A LOT !!! I use the HUDY screwdriver bits which in my view are worth the money.

Any opinions on that? I dont think I can justify £50 on a Hitachi, but the Ryobi seems a decent price

I got mine from B&Q around this time of year. They always have them at a good price now.
Might not have all the attatchments, mine had an angle one with it (which i've never used and don't actually know where it is, lol), i bought it for RC mainly, so with the EDS bits, i'm Happy. Try Homebase as well. ![]() |

The only problem I can see with Russ' suggestion is that it doesnt have torque settings?
Im going to buy the Ryobi later from Screwfix I think... Ryobi has a 1.2A battery compared to the 1.5A in the Hiatchi Ryobi has 12 torque settings were as the Hiatchi has 21 Ryobi only has one battery whereas the Hiatchi from eBay has two Ryobi takes 3 hours to charge whereas the Hitachi takes 30 minutes. Both are rated at 5Nm torque Both take 1/4" bits Both have variable speed settings I know the Roybi has slightly lower specs, but I dont race rallycross anymore so only want this for 1/10th scale plastic really.
