oh if only everyone turned their fog lights off when it wasn't foggy. it really pisses me off seeing people with them on sometimes even in the day let alone actual fog. also turn your rear fog off if someone is behind you!

Yep, I've heard that the police have warned drivers to do it. If the heat in the car builds up it can thaw the layer on the roof & can slide forward under braking forces.

The police have been out and about quite a bit round here. Likely that they’re having a word with those that have stupid amounts of snow on roofs and those driving with just a little bit of the windscreen scraped clear.

Also the AA have been warning about insurance companies that are classing winter tyres as a ‘modification’, and drivers finding they’re not insured when they have a bump.

This morning, was looking at snowy roofs and although not much snow here yet - the most was on a police car, a Corsa, all collected up against the blue lights!!

I think its more the case that if there is shed loads on the roof then it could be dangerous, if its just a small covering then its fine.

surely not enforceable ....what if you drive a van and cant reach the roof lol ..then what carry some step ladder and get up there shovellin the roof off...you would then probably get health and safety on your case for errecting in slippery conditions.imagine how many accidents that would cause, falling from its roof...ridiculous

Erecting in these conditions takes a long time which sometimes is a good thing

Anyone that does not fully clear off their vehicle Should be charged. It is dangerous and i really don't care what anyone says otherwise. So many implications of ways of causing an accident.

Also, Fog Lights on when there is No fog or even slightly misty, should be charged also.

Oh and foget this B***** of Driver Awareness courses, they should do one, but that be Extra to a Fine and Points. Oh and also have to pay for the course.

And the idiots that cause other road users to get irate by no indication of where they are going, be it, normal driving, roundabouts etc and driving completely under what is an obvious Safe driving speed, in any road conditions.

I could go on, but i'd best stop there....

I can see your point and I mostly agree but the thing is what's safe to you is not always safe to other people.

My car is an absolute bag of shite in the snow with next to no grip so I have to take it proper steady, then I get morons driving so far up my arse I can't even see their lights. They don't have the balls to overtake but would rather try and intimidate me in the hope that I'll speed up, which aint gonna happen.

If this bad weather is set to stay I'll be getting an old set of steel wheels with the skiniest tyres that will fit on them.

Well, yesterday, i was close ish to having a head on with another driver and got a bit pissed with him. The reason... I know people exagerate, but honest, this is true.
He had obviously got so pee'd off being stuck behind a woman in her twatty car doing, i reckon 20mph absolute Max ! This was on a cleared road, where everyone else was driving either at the 40mph speed limit or over. No i don't condone going quicker, but the road in question really should not be a 40mph, i've been on many smaller, less contained, more populated 60mph roads over the years.
So that contributed to the other driver eventually having enough and wanting to get somewhere that morning.
Now had there been a Police car coming or parked in a side road, who may have got the 'telling off'...

Re-evaluation and brush up on your driving skills every 10 years.... Sounds good to me

Oh and i'd love to be a Copper. I'd be the most hated/dreaded road copper going.
Wouldn't have to have Speed Camera's, i'd bring in more than enough revenue off 'Useless Twat Driving' offences.
