WAIT or you could be throwing money down the drain.

I hope they get the list out sooner rather than later.

But the only person who can say when the list is out is the person who is making the list and as far as I know... he ain't saying!

I'd hold off until the homologation list is posted.

I'm sure the BRCA EB won't keep us waiting any longer than necessary. Just imagine the work load created by the rewording of the rules .... all ahs to be done in people's own time too.

Be patient and keep the wallet tucked away for just a little longer.

In my opinion its a disgrace the list hasn't been announced yet. I feel sorry for those that got new cells for xmas only to find the brca could deem them illegal.

Come on brca, pull your finger out

list is never announced till early/mid jan and obviously with what's going on with cells they want to dot the i's and cross the t's to make sure everything is correct.
and as for feeling sorry for people who had cells for christmas not at all. everyone should know (its in the rules) that the new list isnt published till jan so anyone in there right mind would by new cells until it is published. its also been published on various forums stating the issue's with current cells so i as one wouldnt have bought any until i knew 100% what was going on.

the only disgrace is your post slating the hard work done by the BRCA

the reason for frustration is because this is a potential rule change from something that was legal last season, but may well be illegal this season. I wouldn't be so concerned if it was a decision to make a new product legal.

I would have liked to have seen some official communication informing of the possible exclusion of cells in the coming year.

I'd stick my neck out and say some people aren't even aware of a possible rule change on cells.

but there hasnt been a rule change....the rule's have been in force since i think jan 2005 giving current max cell dimensions......the manufacturers have changed the size of there cells thus possibly making them illegal!! HARDLY THE BRCA'S FAULT

there was an official communica on the brca website in 2005 giving the size's required for cells. the list published each january update's racers what cells come within the criteria required. been like that since ive been racing plus every BRCA member receive's a rule book once a year so no excuse's really

So everybody who raced the last two years have been braking the rules. Sorry Pidge and Bloomers you have been stripped of your titles for using over sized batteries that should not have been used. Ashley Williams is now the national champ in both classes as he used 3700. I am with you on this Wayne I will wait for the battery list to come out before applying for the nationals.

READ YOUR RULE BOOK THAT'S WHAT IT'S FOR

Page 17, of the 2007 Handbook, which all have had since last March.
3.1 (Last sentence)
From 2008 onwards, it is intended to amend the rule that cells must never exceed 43.0mm (including any distortion from charging)
This follows the EFRA ruling in Nov. 2006, and the confirmed new ruling has been on the BRCA website since Jan 2nd.

I think this should solve the problem of which cells will get kicked of the list and which ones will not: lifted straight off the BRCA site.

Weights to conform to BRCA cell approval list for cells approved from Jan. 2007 onwards. Existing approvals having a weight tolerance outside +/- 2 grms. will be adjusted accordingly. NOTE :- It is known that fast charging may result in cell distortion. However from 1st April 2008, cells used at BRCA National events may never exceed 43.0+0/-1mm and 23.0mm +0/-1.5mm diameter. This ruling will apply to all BRCA sanctioned events from 1st April 2009.

I had a cell go down in a pack yesterday which meant clearing the double at York was a little difficult but I JUST did it every lap The pack really haven't been used that many times, and are EP4200, Demon matched. No slur on Demon, just chinese crap I guess.

That pack will just have to be a 2wd 5 cell pack now

Got some news off Race chat this could be rumour or fact but I have just lifted of RC Racechat:

"There has been no change of approval status or removal of cells from the 2007 list!

A NEW list for 2008 NATIONALS events is being prepared, which will ONLY apply to NATIONAL events it will NOT apply to sactioned events till 2009"

Does this mean 07 cells are still legal till next year?
