As the title says, is the Losi Muggy any good??? ive just got one secondhand, i know about the clutch problem, ive got a Answer RC clutch bell and some Hong Nor Super longlife red clutch shoes on the way to sort that, and ive been told the chassis can be a bit flexy, is this chassis any good???
http://www.innovative-rc.com/innovat...1736aaf651ec19 And finally should i change down from 20mm MT wheels to 17mm truggy wheels?? i think the MT wheels look awesome ![]() AJ

I raced a Muggy for around 12 months and it sure is a good laugh
SHocks will soak up almost anything thrown at it. There were a number of issues with the muggy when I ran one, and the clutch was the first thing I sorted out. I think the std gearing gave a final drive ratio IIRC of 14.6 and most truggies were running more around 15.5 at the time and the consensus of opinion was the muggy was overgeared. Losi eventually fitted a 12t clutchbell, but I went one further and fitted the 8ight 48t spur gear, which as the tester for the Innovative rc chassis is something I requested to be incorporated. This brings the gearing to a more acceptable level. As I was racing, I ditched the 420 wheels and swapped to 17mm hex's and ran LPR wheels and tyres. I never experienced any more clutch problems after that. I made quite a number of changes, but i've got to get to work ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Muggy rocks, still got mine and love it! Plod's a bit of guru on this one! I changed the steering to remove slop, as Plod I changed to a robinson racing extra wide 48T spur, requires a little fettling with a dremel and then when teamed with a 12T clutch bell then it's sorted. Chassis has some flex, but not awful. Dropped to using softer springs too, whites on the front and silver rear. It's a cracking bit of kit, especially with a .28 in it...gives it some more torque to handle the extra weight although the standard Mach427 blue head engine is a pearler.

The Carbon fibre came from a company called Speedtech Nitro which has changed it's name to STRC
http://www.teamstrc.com/ebproduct.asp?catmainid=3 I ditched the steering link as like Beanie said, it develops slop real easy I used a turnbuckle and some rod ends but unfortunately I no longer have a picture available as was on my desktop that gave up the ghost

Yep, the LST2 ought to fit, or I believe the Mugen MBX5T fits too....I'm sure Plod will be able to confirm on this one too....

Looks sweet! But unless you're doing big jumps then maybe swap those springs to the Losi LST2 silvers instead that are way softer, I run silver rear and the even softer white springs on the front of mine. Get LST2 shafts rather than the Muggy ones. Not snapped a front shock shaft since changing to the LST2 ones on mine?
