Default Another tax

I heard on the news tonight about another tax that may affect our sport, as I call it but the government may call it a hobby!
A tax on outbuildings, sheds, containers etc, which most clubs have.
Now the tax does not apply if this building is used for sports.
Great, except, is R/C a sport according to the government?
I am sure you good people will tell us.
They told a story about Pigeon racing, that it's not a sport, it's a hobby, so will have to pay tax on their buildings.
I think I heard this story correctly.
Any others heard anything about this?

Yeah I read this on the beeb website, didn't really 'get' what they were taxing exactly but it sounds mental.

This is the story.

Ok so the next question is how do we officially find out if we are a sport or not?
This may never affect us racers, but we should keep an eye on it.

Think we are officially recognised as a motorsport now after the BRCA pushed for this through a few years back.
Sure someone in the know will confirm this. (or will have by the time my slow typing paws have even finished the post! /\ )

MORE stealth taxes though! I'm really starting to go off this country!...

yeah me to. I'm sure thats why they combined with the MSA. i'snt it officially recognised as a 'sport' if it has a 'world championship' event? Sure this is the case.

Still they are rob dogs!

they'll soon be imposing a 'pavement tax' for using the public footpaths! you'll have to carry a little plastic cover with a 'pavement tax disc' in it.lol.

Bloody robbing government.
