Default My Reedy ESC just went POP!

Howdy all,

So I have had my new TA B4.1 for a couple of weeks, and already spent another £100 on repairs and extra FT bits. Also had fun at roundabout racing the other week.

Anyhow took my car on the beach in anglesey, (I thought it was risky, but it was FUN), it worked perfectly! I brought it home and decided it needed cleaning of all the sand.

Did that, and put the ESC near the radiator to dry, when I came to check it out, the ESC popped and started smelling! So i left it a bit and tried again, now it still does turn the motor but intermittently.

I presum I have damage the ESC irrepairably, so I am looking for advice as to what to do next.

I thought of purchasing the Reedy XP SC450 Brushless Combo - 6100KV, as my motor clearly still works (3300KV) and this way I would get a new ESC and another motor.

However just thought I would ask the question of whether there is a better brushless combo that would be worth buying at this point as I am about to spend £95 to get this fixed.

Thanks

Thanks alexb4,

I have just ordered the ezrun 8.5t combo off Ebay, it came to £65 however, there wasn't a cheaper one. Is there any modifications needed on this ESC to make them compatible with DEANS LiPo batteries?

Gonna have to wait 2 weeks for this! DOH

Cheers

I'm alos looking to get another combo! (A 6.5t version)

So I have found 2 motors to compare and choose which one to go for, can someone tell me which of these 2 combo's are better, and perhaps why?

Fusion Exceed Pro Brushless Combo - 6.5T - £129.99

1/10 Xcelorin S 6.5T SensoredBrushless Combo
- £119.99

This is to go into my 1:10 TA B4.1 RC Car.

Thanks

Mine hasn't. ^^
I'd be tempted to buy a better second hand esc and a new motor. (speed passion maybe)

If your a beginner a 8.5 will be plenty fast enough.
A 6.5 will be too quick and you will only find it hard to drive and break the car more often.

How did you "clean" your ESC?

If you need to wash dirt off your car then you need to remove all the electrics and use water or wash it with something else
(I like to spray a bit of WD40 onto a hard brush and use that to clean the car)

Water + Electrics = Bang.
