Default the racing maxxum ff

this is a kyosho maxxum ff. front wheel drive 1/10th off road buggy.
i wanted to race 2wd at regionals but my driver skill wasnt quite up to it.
so the answer was fwd. thanks blood clod
i got this maxxum in the box ansd set about building it up and modding it for racing. its got hobao shocks on the rear. hpi rally shocks on the front front and rear anti roll bars an exceed brushless 13.5 system. bluebird servo. differant lazer type front hubs and carryers 2.4ghz and a pt.
it has been raced at regionals and is still being tweaked . it wants a bigger motor really like a 8.5. the gear box will handle anything the gears are super chunky but so are pinions so its hard to gear properly. fun to drive and still in development
jumps ok and reckon it would be ace indoor
fwd is fun to drive gotta stay smmoth and on the power
bit of fun really . will probly do battle with it indoor this winter .. keep tweaking its set up

As much weight up front as possible. Wider tyres up front too.

Is there anyway to turn the battery through 90 degrees so it runs along the chassis?

I cant believe you seriously have medium width tyres mounted up front on a ......front wheel drive-

There's plenty you can do to make this car work and being the fact the gearbox is similar to that of the original Ultima you might want to consider swapping out the 32dp spur for 48dp aftermarket items found on ebay. Also the final pinion inside the gearbox is terrible and you'll need to track down a hardened Option House item otherwise the stock alloy one will turn into cheese before too long and chop out your internal gears.

Because its front wheel drive you'll want as much traction up front as possible. The rear isnt as important.

Have fun with this classic!

its not a bad idea . just taking the motor out to put a 5.5 turn in for a laugh. but after reading about the gears i not sure. it does still have box and some other stuff like motor and speed controller in the packets to.so maybe ebay is the answer. any offers from people on here . pm me
