Going to buy my first 2WD buggy soon. A Losi XXX-Cr or a B4 (can't decide which one yet but that's another problem
![]() And another thing too. Which turn should I buy? A 7.5, 6.5 or 5.5 for a 2WD buggy? Thanks ![]()

You have to take the fan off and mount it on the chssis standing on its side pointing toward sthe speedo.
As for motor a 7.5 or a 6.5 a 5.5 will be to fast. P.S. Get a b4 A

Or you can cut a hole in your shell for the fan to sit through, better cooling. Try a 7.5 at first, you can always swap it.
P.s. Get a B4 ![]()

What the hell are you on lazer boy do you know what a b4 looks like there isnt any where to mount it. Also josh the problem with a hole is if someone crashes into the side of you it may break the fan.

But the heatsink is on the top of the speedo therefore the fan is more effective there, mounting it on the side is a compromise, therefore only do it if you have to!! Cutting the bodyshell would be an issue with BRCA rules and also a potential safety issue at club level. |

I think its mainly because alot of there market is tc's so they dont have a height issue.

sticking heatsinks up out of shells os a no-no for racing, it creates a sharp edge, which is not allowed, plus your fan will get damaged.

In a B4, I loosened the fan, moved it slightly inwards, and when running the original shell, it would fit fine. Although I did put two small holes above the fan to let air in.
For some reason I moved the fan off the top of the speedo and mounted it beside the speedo, it worked fine... in a 2wd I ran a few times without a fan, no bother. In a XXXCR... buy a LRP/Nosram brushless. ![]() ![]() |

I dont think the fan is as important in 2WD as it is in high load 4WD. I have been running my 5.5 in a B4 for 2 years now without a fan. This has been in all conditions, and at different levels.

Oh my god what dribble
Right, you can fit the fan on top of the GTB in a b4, Lee martin runs the small black novak fan on his and it sits closer to the cells that factory recomendation but THIS will fit under the b4 SCOOped shell. Craig D, did not run a fan on his b4 at the euros

Hi all,
Right, after a prob from millzy in the right direction to this thread, i am here to help and end speculation. Novak GTB. it will work without a fan. BUT its not advised, it may over heat and also voids warrenty if im not wrong. the best thing to do is to buy a novak Black fan set. Right now you have to eye it up to the speedo. have the wires on the speedo facing the batterys so you can push the fan over more. after that u need to take a small amount of plastic away from one of the fan holes so that when you apply a screw it sits flush with the top of the fan. this pushed over enough and voila! fan in place. looking neat, ready to go. also its prob best to wire the Fan directly onto 7.2v for more power as standard is 6v. so solder it onto the red and black on the wiring board on the speedo. Top tips from Pidge! |
