Default 201 questions

A couple of questions.
Are the standard ballstuds that come with the 201 ok to use (unlike the standard 511 ones that are made of cheese). I've decided to use the alloy 0.5 rear hubs and need to know what ballstuds will fit using the kit standard ball cups?

What caster blocks are standard on the car? ........ i've got some spare 30 degree ones but i'm not sure what's already on the kit !!!

Will Associated spurs fit?

Cheers

Ball studs front (caster block, steering arms etc) are same as 511 standard one..
So buy Tamiya 53969 hard hex head ones.
Hard hex ones are included when you buy the optional alu rear hubs.

30 degree caster block is standard, 25 degree optional.

Ass spurs should fit, I´ve not tried though.

Thanks for the quick replies (including yours Jimbo LOL)
Ballstuds now ordered.
What have people been using on our tracks, 25 or 30 degree caster blocks?

I've just had a little play up the road before the rain came down and it felt very good, lots of wheelies and loads of steering
I've got the 0.5 alloy hubs, 3.0 alloy toe in bits and the "Rude Tony AKA butterfingers" under lipo and under servo weights, carbon battery brace .......... wished i'd used it Saturday now at the "old gits" in Coventry

Just ordered my 201 along with a few hop ups like the 3' rear toe blocks. Does anyone know what the kit standard toe is and does the anti squat stay the same with the alloy blocks?

Also ordered the lightweight rear motor plate, and a Rudebits under lipo weight. Question is, do I need the under servo weight too or with the reduction in weight at the rear (-38g if you believe the hype) will the car be balanced enough already?

Cheers guys.

Mark

I've got the Rudebits under lipo weight and the under servo weight and the 3' rear toe blocks. Not sure if it alters the anti squat or not though. The car feels really good, i've just ordered the Hot Bodies ballstuds and i'm going to use Losi ball ends as i've done on the 511 as everytime I corner hard on grippy surfaces (indoor carpet) the rear ballstuds pop off (super annoying). As soon as it all gets here i'll be running the car properly

Hey Alec, where have you found the ball cups from? I think I got MK's last set for the 511 and they haven't had any more since.

hot bodies ball studs are metric thread, but the ball is sized up the same as AE, losi.

tamiya ball studs are 0.5mm bigger and therefore do not fit with rpm, losi ball cups.

hope that makes sense

Hi Tony, the Hot Bodies ballstuds are excellent and if you have a look at 3racing they have titanium ones with the hex top in 10mm and 13mm that are cheap as chips. i've been using them all year on the 511 and have never had one break/bend or a losi (white) ballcup come off
