Default Hinge pins

Hi all

For the 3rd meeting in a row, i've busted a front wishbone, on the same side, etc etc blah blah, anyway. I'm after some hinge pins. The OE ones come in a shaft bag that amounts to over 60 quid, WTF .

Are there any aftermarket ones or shafts from other kits I can use, they're 3mm by about* 48mm long.

Thanks in advance

*not taken one off to measure it, just looked underneath with vernier in hand

go on eBay, search for 3mm drill blanks, they are excellent, work out cheap, strong, you just got to dremmel them down to size.

Hi Lionel,

Just looked at the instructions, they're 3 x 48.5mm. (item number 9805681)

Might be worth contacting Time Tunnels as they have them listed for £3.79 --> http://goldstarstockists.net/live/ca...efbd87e02ef15f

Fusion Hobbies £3.99 --> http://www.fusionhobbies.com/Tamiya-.../ta9805681.htm

Or if the above shops don't have any in stock, an Singapore Ebay seller has some --> http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Tamiya-TRF501X...item1e5c70e33c

See you at the end of the month,
Nige

Or get a hilti (masonary) nail, just find the right diameter. Cut to length and give it a quick rub of 1000 wet and dry and away you go. Got these in my 501 for about a year.

thanks guys

Just ordered from time tunnel. 48.5mm long, and I guessed at 48mm, not bad.

Nige, yes, see you next month, though I'm gonna try and be down for a morning meet before then, just to get some track time in.

If this is for a TRF511, the front hinge pins are 46mm and the rear pins are 48.5mm.
