I got a 80w antex iron for about £13 and the tips and after asking they have told me after asking are iron clad which is whats needed for alot of tip life. THey sell the tips spare for around £4 with free postage. They're not massive but a decent size and should last a long while

My dad has just got a 100 watt soldering iron and i have to say, it is a brute. The tip is just perfect for doing battery packs and for soldering wires. Probably because of the fact it is 100 watts.

It's a schumacher one Ash, and i think the tip is made of polystyrene

It gets well hot to be fair to it, just the tip is the issue, it's got no girth

Your best bet is to contact schumacher direct and ask if they do a replacement/upgrade tip and then find a shop with a schuamcher acount and ask them ot order you one if they do one. Ive had a look on the schuamcher website and cant find anythign there maybe try and find a tip from another comapny that are the same dimentions as the current tip.
