how hot of a brushless motor? And for your 10 yr. old i would suggest a front diff so it's easier to drive. (not a one way)

I would go for a 7.5 brushless motor to start with - MAX for your son. The BJ4 has a very efficient drive train, so it should be plenty fast enough. The top boys only run 5.5 bondeds!
