Default Malvern Indoor Racing - Anyone remember?

I can't remember the year, but i know Si Willets was racings along with Rich Meredith and i'm 99% sure Phil Sleigh was there........ in fact Phil if you're reading this i'm sure it was you ramping your car (Cat 2000??) off the big raised platform they built haha

I know they raced there quite a few times but i only went once and it was an indoor track with turf laid down for the straight and a hairpin, with a big jump built under the turf, also a large raised area of scaffolding created a sort of ramp and then there was a really steep banked corner too.

Anyone remember racing there?? I think the race i did that year was the Schumacher festival or something.....

yeah, remember that well. did a weekend there once, and was totally hammered the whole time. There were porta-bars there, so it'd be rude not to really!

Three counties showground i believe? We camped out, and went to a club called Tramps on the saturday night.

the track was ace, that banked corner was awesome!

i think i did a radio race car meeting there once, it was when the hydra-drive first came out, and it was awesome round there. I didn't have one...

I raced there once or twice,
Pretty sure they held a Radio Race Car finals there once, the raised part was all shiny ply wood!!! The cars looked good going round in circles....
Was a pretty good meeting in there and with the show that was on outside.

That was back in the days when Worcester Model Car Club still supported off-road.

It was at the Classic Car Show at the Three Counties Showground.

I did it the first two years it was there (95?) and also got on well with the chairmans daughter.... heehee, was a great venue, although a tad cold for camping that time of year.

Hi Nick, hows tricks?
I remember racing there a few times, i know one of them was the radio race car, not sure if it was a round or if it was the finals, and one of them was a schumacher meet, they had a wall of death the one year, and and two big random bumps on the straight, would of be an ideal venue this year with all the rain we`ve had

That was the RRCi 2wd Finals, 93 I think Butch.

Dave Duggan won it and I was second with my Cougar or maybe Cougar 2.

The track was made of loads of pallets with hardboard on top, then some of the sections they laid a load of turf over, others were bare wood and one section was on the concrete floor.. was quite bizare but the giant banked corner was awesome.
