The armco barrier there is only supported by a thick wooden stake - with the impact it snapped and allowed the armco to act like a ramp

I've had the odd close shave at Brands and Lydden but nothing as scary as that - one very lucky marshal!

All I can say is, good on the marshals, they dived for cover and immediately went about their tasks with probably a large curly whip in their pants, how professional are they!!

The picture does not show how close they came. Just found it on video, they were very lucky. That had some momentum to roll bonnet over boot several times.

As for the marshalls they all do a great job. Look how quickly this lot remove the debris when a car in the pit lane hits a camerman. All they care about is getting their man back out fast.
