I've got a B4 and am thinking about gong Mid Motor. Would the XFK019 kit contain everything I need? i.e. I don't need a Losi as well
Would my AE rear wheels be OK? |

Nope, no losi needed...just the kit and the B4
![]() Some poeple like a few of the options depending on the sort of tracks you run on, but they are just options...if a little addictive!!!

Thanks for the info.
Did you convert a B4? If so -What differences did you notice? |

a few locals have done the conversion and you als need the longer cvd's otherwise you need to ha everything set to have the least amount of droop possible and have no real way of adjusting the back end, so you need the conversion and the longer cvds. the kit makes a huge differance, you now almost need one to win, its been a few months since anything else has won as the top 3 drivers all run them.

Well I've just spotted you were at our wrca regional this weekend, so yes the longer cvs axles are very handy round these parts!
Difference is massive! X6 drives more like a 4wd than a b4. With the weight being so differently placed the car pivots much more willingly, so you drive very differently to a rear motored car. The rear mount vs mid mount motor argument will run and run. Both can win nationals in the right hands, but I think the majority would agree that mid motor on our Uk tracks is easier, so for a lot of people it's def faster! It is for me anyway ![]()

how essential are the losi shocks? any team drivers been running them recently and have any setups they can share?

I'm no team driver, but would say losi shocks aren't essential.
That said I know a number if the team do run Losi shocks. Some say they prefer building the Losi shocks, as it's what they are used to. Some say they find it hard getting the consistency on the associated shocks. The new associated bleed caps help out with that, but it cones down to personal experience I think. I have tried both and have been equally quick with either, but they do feel different to me. I have the losi's on currently as I find them marginally more supple on rough surfaces. I've put this down to the shape of the pistons, the losi's have rounded edges. Something you could try though is Losi pistons in the associated shocks...this gives more of a Losi feel to the associated shocks, not 100% the same feel but pretty close. Also, the ghea pistons seem to be getting rave reviews from the people I know who've tried them, they could be worth a try if you want to experiment with your shocks without the big bill of trying losi's.

Most of the Team run Losi shocks but it's mainly becasue we know them better, they don't blow seals out of the bottom and we've got on with the spring rates really well. Damping wise, Losi (rounded edge) pistons in AE shocks should be similair to losi pistons in Losi shocks and comparrable AE spring rates are out there.

I have had 2 sets of AE shocks, the 1st set were second hand and i never had any problems the second set were new FT ones and i ended up rebuilding them every fortnight i kept blowing the seals in the rear shocks so from my experience i didnt enjoy them/racing at the time the last 3 months ive been using losi shocks had no issues and now i enjoy racing again... also using an X6 helps
