Question Painting window borders/frames....?

I have a Durango DEX410R on order and I'd like to do a decent job of painting the shell. I am going to just paint it one colour but I'd like to do a contrasting border around the edge of the windows. Most of the cars posted in the Durango forum have borders around the windows (many of them chrome which looks very good), so I think it must be fairly straightforward. As far as I know the kit just comes with masking for the basic window outline and nothing else. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Also, how do I tint the windows themselves. I'd like a slight tint - it looks like I might just be able to buy translucent polycarbonate paint?

Thanks.

the border around the window is cut buy hand using a scalpel, and sprayed with spaz stix or custom colour chrome paint, and as you say candy or translucent paint applied in thin light coats for window tints
