Default 8.5T motor gearing in a B4

I've just got an 8.5T motor as a 6.5T is too quick for my poor driving style. ??/?? seems about the most popular! there are just so many different combo's. But what do you run? I'll be outdoors on Astroturf. So can you give a good starting point or recommend gearing for spur gears. Ta

I'm using a 23T pinion with the standard spur gear (81T??) -that's using an 8.5T Losi motor.

is that in a T4 or a B4 cos the roll length of the wheels affects it, Ta though

Ooh that gear chart is nerd porn............. gonna go crack one out ( is that the expression) to the sums on there.

None!

They all rev different, have different torque and like to run at different temps.

Not sure how that site helps really.

Mike, check your PM

I agree now about the gearing site, I bought a robitronics 8.5 which is about the same KV's as a 7.5 speed passion and £20 cheaper. Didn't bother with the gear site, just asked Keith at Microtech for a good starting point. Advice from a quality racer with amazing knowledge was better than a lot of numbers. The pinion I am running at the mo is 4 over what was recommended by the site, But was 1 away from what keith told me and is sweet as a nut.

From my experience then i've posted up requests to the guy who runs this site to add motors and things and he's done it within days....I like!
