I have been racing a long time, but I have never really got my head around servos. I spent £60 on a KO fet for my touring car along time ago, and don't get me wrong, it has been superb, but I have recently started off road again, and to keep the initial cost down I bought a Bluebird servo for around £20 off feebay to go in my B4. I CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE!!!! the cheap Bluebird has been excellent. What the hell? I am only an average driver, so maybe I just can't notice any difference, but the speed is great and it always centres spot on and it has excellent build quality. Are we buying expensive servos for no reason? some servos are around £100!! you can get an excellent spec Bluebird for £16. http://www.blue-bird-model.com/en/servos/bms-631mg.html Please let me know your thoughts....
Cheers, Mark. |

I remember the days when I'd get a standard servo and link the red wire to the + on the speedo wire.
I think it's personal preference, I always go for a KO with metal gears, I don't really mind if it's digital or not. I'm probably buying the same servo with a different name plate. However if you really want to know the difference here it is: http://www.futaba-rc.com/servos/digitalservos.pdf |

yeah, I remember 'hot wiring' servos in my Bosscat. Thanks for the link, that explained it. For now I am sticking with value for money!!
