Default forums

Sorry to post this here, but I'm not getting any response elsewhere.

I'm on Racechat and haven't been able to post in some sections, to posts I've allready replied to, so I was able to post to them. This has happened in the past week or so and no-one has replied to me to say why, to say there's any problem, or anything (even if they don't know what any problem is, acknowledgement of the problem would help).

I know some people have had issues with some forums recently, but I haven't had any with oople or racechat, and the one I have had "problems" with, is well known of.

Am I the only one with this issue, or have other people experienced similar?

Wouldn't someone have replied to my posting, or emailed me to say that's the case then?

Nah... they are all too busy being "serious" RC'ers...(Moderators email and ban on the way for that one...) I think it is eliteist to ask for a subscription to "join" any forum... Any forum in the public domain should be free...

Default hresolved

thankfully, whatever the problem was, it's seems to have been resolved now.

What I don't understand though, is all the negative talk, well, lets call it what it is, bitching, about another forum. They're aimed at different sections of the sport, oople being mainly off-road, and racechat being mainly on-road.

Ask anyone who runs a website, and they'll tell you it costs money, so whereas oople asks for donations, racechat asks for a members fee (which isn't much tbh) and for that you get enhanced features, which I understand most similar websites do.

Advanced features like being able to post and have lots of PM's? You don't pay for that on oOple do you? I'm very VERY grateful for donations we've had - running the site is surely not cheap, but it's optional, very very optional. And whilst we get roughly 2 donations a month averaged out it all helps. Not right to compare oOple with racechat, in fact, I'm offended you have done that to be honest - it's free! deal with it!
The problem with having advanced things for members is that you have to have non-advanced things for non-members. I'd prefer to do things for everyone, for free.

I don't think racechat is aimed at on-road - it's the original UK forum where ALL races from ALL classes posted. If it's got less off-road posts on there now than on-road then think of other reasons that 'by design'. oOple is more aimed toward off road however - I'll give you that

I think also, oople started to thrive when Racechat became more controlled, so ones loss is oople's gain.

Jimmy, please don't think I was trying to offend anyone, I wasn't, I was simply saying that both forums do different things, and I wasn't saying anyone was right or wrong, but I've heard a lot of attacking of various forums recently, and that's all I was wondering about, ie what's the problem.

If I have offended you, then please accept my apologies, that was never my intention.
