The RC10 is the first version, with the gear diff, and short flappy front wishbones. It comes with a body, but thats in terrible shape!

I thinking of organising a "vintage" race. Anyone interested?

Its got a 6 gear tranny with varilock ball diff at the spur gear right ?

You can get a new shell for it no problem.

john price is still working on his kyosho javelin (4wd chain drive) and I will probably ressurect my yokomo chain drive beast for some racing some time.. so yea..
540 silvercans i think are the order of the day, faster motors would kill these cars

Sounds good. Maybe indoors somewhere so they don't get dirty!

Sould be able to get a heat together.

Been thinking a bit about this.

We should use:

The oldest gear you own! That would be cool.
Silver can 540's (as Jimmy suggested).
Schumacher Yellow full spikes (last ages).
Cars should be as original as possible.

I know Simon Majors got some vintage cars. Jim mentioned an old Yoke with trailing arms!

I've got a Tekin 410K (the keypad one) that would look well cool in a gold tub RC10!

Yeah Jimmy, its got the 6 gear tranny. Are they the new ones?

graham
yellow full spikes are very hard to come by nowadays, unless you kept a supply of them when we used them as club tyres, would be interesting though watching a heat of retro buggies

lol, might have a hard time fitting anything semi modern like spikes on the yoke, its got tiny wheels, like 1.5 inch or something

6gear is the original one, I had a champion edition1 with the 6 gear tranny, but long front arms, was a great car.

Ok fair point Daz.

But if this happens we need to "keep it real"

We don't want people putting mini pins on vintage cars, it just wouldn't look right!

I have just bought a Tekin 410K off ebay, arrived yesterday, looking a bit tatty but heck, its supposedly working!!!

This is pre RC10B2, so about the time of the last of the alloy tub RC10's and Procats, early Bosscats when the 410K was used and, erm, failing.. although awesome when working.

Bizarre how big it looks now, ive seen smaller BigMac's.

XX WIP

I got this free with a XX4 I bought as a donor car, I've give it a clean and 'Cock-nosed' it up so far.

Can anyone help me out with a gear cover, servo posts or them whacky XX wing mount thingies.

I know its not proper retro, there are still alot about, not in the same league as the Tub RC10, more like the B2.

I think I'll run it at the NE 2WD regionals I attend as I will be in the Non-points scoring affair.
