I wish I had had a camera handy years ago, I walked into teh Citroen dealers, just as a new XM was on the ramp for PDI, and the old guy had left it in gear running, it was an auto, so it sat a while then rolled off the ramp with the door open, caught the post through the open window and was left hanging by the doorframe, customer was due later that day, got fobbed off till they rebuilt it, never even told him, not quite as new as he hoped I reckon

Not exotic but the volvo dealership where we take our volvo had an XC90 in the garage along with 8 or 9 other cars the XC90 caught fire and destroyed all the cars in there. Our volvo was in there but we went to pick it up a day early as it was ready.

I heard a story about an Audi Dealership a while back.
The guy dropped his RS4 for service before he went away on holiday for 2 weeks.
He came back from Holiday and walked straight in a demanded to see the service amnager and asked wether his car had been driven at all. The manager said yes after the service the car is driven to make sure all is ok.
Anyway the guy then asked why is car had been speeding and being driven at night and during the speed breaking the speed limit. Manager looked at him blankley. After a brief chat it became apparent that the guys owned a tracking company using GPS and had been tracking his car from Spain.
Audi UK denied to coment on this story when it hit the press

Many (many) moons ago when I worked in a garage, a customer dropped off his Triumph Herald to investigate a gearbox problem. Foreman asked me to drive it into his bay. Got in the car, waggled the gearstick to confirmed it was in neutral, and turned the key. The car jumped backwards through the plate glass window of the showroom - and we're talking a full-height sliding door here!

By some miracle, the car was undamaged, and there was but a small scratch on the car in the showroom. After I'd recovered my senses, and the mess had been cleared up, the foreman said that at least I had rapidly diagnosed the problem - the connection between the gearstick and the gearbox had become, how shall we say, a bit worn! Oooops...
