Default Wraggy, you're my hero!! :)

Well, after an eventful day at the ME regional today I have to thank Paul Wragg.

As my Durango parted company with its rear prop pin half way down the straight on the warm up lap, it cut into the LiPo and produced possibly the biggest smoke cloud I've seen from an RC car!! (very spectacular).
I pulled it to the side so something could be done with it only to hear people saying "I'm not touching that!!".

As I ran from the rostrum I saw a figure running through the smoke towards my car. Mr wragg was the only one brave enough (? lol) to plunge his hands into the depth of the smoke and unplug the LiPo.

Thank you Mr Wragg. You probably save my car from imminent death!

haha, don't know if anyone got it on vid.

There were plenty that were stood watching, so I'd be amazed if no one got it on a phone or something.

When they let go, they let go propperly!!

To be fair, as the smoke is toxic, as a club we advise that the car is left alone, if someone so wishes to, thats then up to them. We had one go, and the smell was really bad, some wretching went on too.

Wraggy is a LiPo hero lol

To be honest, it was last seen in a pile of sand. Appolgies to Rob as we left it in there and forgot about it until we got home.

But it was pretty damn shredded.

Don't want a repeat of that too often.

I have to confess (although it wasn't for Tel of course - glad the damage was fairly minimal) It was quite funny - looking back.

Me and Ned were in the tent, and I happened to look over to what became it's final resting place and saw lots of smoke. I said to him, "looks like someone has got a fire, or a bbq" We both agreed it must have been a bbq as there didn't seem to be a huge amount of people around, and promptly carried on what we were doing!!!

Fair play Wraggy, not ideal, but last thing anyone wants is for it to just keep burning.

Sweet, come on Chris, post it! lol

Haha, cheers Matt. Luckily being alloy the chassis was untouched. Just the battery strap that melted. Any other car and it would have been mega bucks to repair....along with a new Lipo.

My B44 has come close to doing it. So I guess you could count BJ4 and B-max in the list as well.

Tel, i didn't even see it go up I noticed you weren't counting on the screen during the race, turned round to ask scrutineering if you had been through them and saw you standing next to a big plume of smoke.

We got rid of the evidence at the end of the day, Chris will put the picture up I am sure but all the remains looked like was someone had set fire to a book, thats how little there was left.
