Exclamation First time in a auction today what happend!

Hiya today I went to an auction with a friend for the first time today. Anyway looked around then seen a 26cc leaf grass blower, vac and shreader. It was untested but a good make McCulloch which are £170 brand new this model. The bidding was going and went to £7 just before you hammer went down I bidded to £8 and won it. I got it for £9 including vat in the end cheap enough for parts or spares if it dont work.

Anyway got it home cleaned it up. Pulled the starter it had good compression a good sign. Took the spark plug out cleaned it up with a good spark showing even better. Cleaned the fuel filter and air filter out and butter fly on the carb. I then Empty the old fuel out and replaced with new fuel.

Pulled the starter once and it started first time and runs like new all for £9 what a bargain for my first go in a auction!

It comes complete with all the parts which is anther bonus.

And that's why I don't go to auctions.

I'd end up with loads of shit I don't really want!

I took my lad to a car auction when he was about 10. I was after a run about for the wife. He asked me how the auction worked so I explained to him. If you raise your hands at the car you want then you have bid on it.
" I'll show you" I said raising my hand at a fiat tipo which was at £600 thinking it would go futher. Now I,ve made a bid I told him.
Jesus christ no other bugger bid on it to my horror the hammer went down and I went home with a car I did,nt want £600plus the add ons lighter.

It's going to be ideal when the leafs fall of the trees. Also when cutting the hedge and grass saves alot of time picking the bits up and brushing everywere.

Tip for anyone who goes to an auction, don't bid at the last second! Its not eBay so there isn't a time limit! If you try and bid when the auctioneer is counting down you are likely to get missed!

Its good practise to hold the catalog up when bidding too, much easier for the auctioneer and clark to see

(I worked at an auctioneers for over 2years)
