Default Battery Management

Just looking for best way to look after receiver/glow warmer batterys, how much charge should be left in for storage, how often should they be cycled if left, is leaving them plugged in a big no no etc??

Hoping their less sensitive than nimhs I remember due to the lower current draw etc!?

Dave

Just don't leave them discharged or fully charged for more than a few days.

I have two Nimh 1600mah rx packs by Orion, and I always charge both the evening before along with the glow starter. I then use 1 pack for practice and 4 rounds of qualifying - then by this point I know they're flat as from experience, 5th run and the servo's die. So I put the other RX pack in for the finals. Then for the next meeting I use the pack I used in the last finals for qualifying - so to rotate how im using the cells.

I never discharge, although it'd probably be of benefit to discharge, cool, then charge rather than just charging.

The glow starter I just peak up each week, ive never flattened it or put any thought into the condition of the cell. I charge both my RX packs and Glowstarter at 2amps, minimum mv cutoff on Pulsar3.

Are you coming to Biggin next week Dave?

Yep, I'll be there, first time with no mechanic

Looking forward to seeing how the 801 handles on grass! Just thinking now about when to charge everything up!

Just charge everything up the night before and then put the receiver pack on a quick charge after every 2nd heat and just before your final.

PS:- Break Don't keep the throttle open on the jumps Mate can you remember
