I feal your pain, I broke three sets before I got the medium flex and haven't broken since. The newer sets of medium from shumacher have been beefed up as well.....As far as RPM making arms for the cat, dream on, they primaraly make parts for American brands.

have broken a few myself but have to say that any one i have broken has definatly been my fault ie hitting concrete . dont really think a upgrade is needed especially with the beefed up version that is now available already from schuy.

Do you know if the beefed up new wishbones by Shucy come on the Cougar?
Just thought if they haveimproved something surely they would put them on the new cars

If you have unbreakable wishbones then you will break something else, the something else is probably more costly than a wishbone.

I doubt there unbreakable, propably got more flex,

I have broken both, medium flex and standard! All broken in exactly the same place! Accross the 3 holes to the shallow part on the rear of the wishbone, defo a weak section!

If there is nothing wrong with them, why is there a stronger set being released?

But!! They need to get the new version out asap!!

the new improved "stronger" wishbones need to be on sale asap. i broke 8 fronts in 2 meetings, all broke in the same place, near the 3 holes as james v has also stated.

when i was at racing on sunday i marshalled the a final guys and right in front of me a CAT sx cliped the side cartwheeled enough times to break both fronts but luckly it landed on its wheels and away it went.

after speaking to the driver he showed me his wishbones... they look almost twice as thick as the ones ive been breaking.

the new improved ones are a must i think.

Bad thing for me is its cost me £32.00 in front wishbones so far, i also have a new packet in my box im reluctent to use and 2 new ones on the on the car at the moment, (i give these maybe 2 races b4 i break one)

sorry for the rant it just im annoyed at how easy they broke!

roll on the new improved wishbones...

How many! I have broken 2 and have too many spare wishbones. Running the new wishbones and they are good too.

I have had my SX now for 10 months

what motor are you running as I think the SX is a solid car

The reason why they break at the holes is because the ballstud has a shoulder on it which spreads the plastic when you tighten it up if you drill or ream it out slightly before you attach the ballstud you stop the stress at that point worked for me

I've been running the newer medium version for 3 races with no breaks, broke 2 sets before I switched.

I had the new thicker ones on last sunday, i did not crash bad enough to even break one of the older weaker wishbones tho so the new ones did not really get the crash test as such

But my dad did have the old weaker ones on and he broke 2 fronts, unlucky for him too in the 2 crashs also managed to break two diff hafs too, Again these were the older weaker diff halfs.

personally i belive the older wishbones are too weak for beginers who will most likely land on either of the 4 corners of the car at some point, every time i land badly i break a wishbone.....very expensive for people who are learning.

But........the new improved stronger ones are on the website now so time will tell.
