Yes - but for some reason every time I've seen it done the result has suffered from some serious cogging.

ah bugger thats what i thought the reason i ask is because i wanted to run the mtroniks g2 pro combo for a wet car but cant , reason being its unsensered and its not allowed
but if i were to run the speedo 100% water proof and a sensered motor problem solved |

Yes, maybe, sorta, sometimes, no.
Sorry to sound vague, but from my experiences it all depends on the brands you're trying to mate. Some combos seem to get along fine, and others seem to not very compatible. All you can do is try. If you're buying them, unless you know for a fact the combo works, I wouldn't try it. |

Not sure why you don't just get a sensored system and be done with it.

I guess I am missing something, but why do you want to run/have a "wet car" (whatever that means)???

i run a 1/10th touring car and live in britain so have a car just for running in the wet and would like to run a water proof speedo but the only one is the g2 pro but it is not sensered and has to be to conform to brca reg's |

OK, understand now, so then it seems you should check with your mates and see what they're doing to protect the speedo....instead of going off the reservation and trying to use something that's not compatible and making headaches for yourself just because the manu says its esc is water-resistant.

Speedo is only part of the problem. If the speedo is 'proofed, but the water gets into the motor, it will interfere with the sensors and give you problems. The main reason to run sensorless is to avoid that problem.
I recall that people running old-style GM speedos (early ones built for s'less only) and motors managed to run s'less without problems, but don't know any certain combinations of sensored that will work sensorless. It's a shame that most Section Rules no longer quote the BR motor lists - the best answer for a wet car is to run BR! HTH ![]() |
