Hi Paul

It might be worth a visit down to the local fire station to see if they have any old fire hoses which you could fill with sand or visit a boat yard or dockside/quayside for the old barge rope which is really good stuff

No worries Paul, just had another idea about the barge rope is to make up some plywood bases with straps to hold the rope and put velcro on the underside of the base, this would hopefully stop the movement

tug ropes are what you want, they are heavy and stay put quite well . another option is an oil distribution company, they can only use their tanker hoses a set no. of times before having to dispose of them, visit a motorbike tyre centre for your corners, or car tyres and cut them in half.
