I bought a pack of the Intellect Lipo's from UkRC (In Hong Kong). They turned up in less than two weeks and they seem good to me! If you can wait for delivery then they're hard to resist.

Depends if you want to race at BRCA sanctioned events

UK shops will/should have BRCA spec batteries, some on ebay may not be on the list

look under the BRCA Homologation List here before you buy

think the intellect ones mentioned above are on the lists

I saw a guy using these batteries last night

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Intellect-7-4v...ht_1305wt_1165

He's a keen racer and being doing it for years, and I'm sure he wouldn't use them if they were not any good.

so long as they fit in the car you'll be OK providing your club allows open cell rules and are not asking for BRCA approved ones

Default Intellect Products are generally EFRA-approved

I have bought my IP 5 200 mAh 45 C saddlepacks from RC Station via their eBay store. <- direct link

It was well priced and arrived in less than two weeks.

According to the latest link, the intellect 5000 and 5200 Lipos are BRCA approved:

http://www.brca.org/BRCA/elecboard/n...0v1%20pdf6.pdf

will probably grab a bargain myself

Just to throw something in the mix, if you dont need BRCA aproved check out 'Hobbyking' for flightmax or turnigy branding, big thread on a very big US forum, the yanks are raving about the price & the quality
I have a flightmax Lipo from hobbyking, just over a week to arrive & no import tax

Hard cased always. As for mah and the C rating it depends on what and where you run a bit, but anything over 4000mah and 30c would be fine for club racing.

the turnigy li-po's are amazing for the price, almost all li-po's at my club are turnigy's after one member decided to try one everyone else decided that they would go for the cheaper option, they are hard wearing aswell i have seen the same battery come out of a car a couple of times and there is no damage what so ever, compaired to a guy who dropped a top brand (not sure which) hardcase and split it open with a shard going into the cell

so imho if its only for club racing then go for it.
