Default NW Regionals RND2 - Bury - Early Start???

Hi

Due to the large turnout at the the NW Regionals. Are there any plans to have an early start time for the next round at Bury?

We started racing at 11.30 at Southport and didnt finish until 8pm!

Cheers

Does depend. I was going to speak to Rog about it on Sunday.

Part of the problem was the large number of drivers who's details were not in Southport's computer, primarily the guests and Keighley drivers. However, since most of these people raced the Bury indoor series we should already have their data in the system, speeding things up.
I was also going to suggest it might be a good idea if those who are sure they are coming pre-book as per the indoor series so as to minimise the faff on race day. I'm not saying you can't book on the day, but the more the computer can be set up before raceday, the better.
We might want to start a little earlier than Southport, but I think being more efficient will net the bigger gain here.

But Rog has final say on this - its just my suggestion.

There was only 5 drivers from Keighley Si Coe, an 2 of us were already in the system.

Southport had 2 people doing the booking in, 1 taking the money and the other entering details on to the laptop, you cant speed that process up anymore.

I think an early start would be best.

It added about 30minutes to the schedule to get all the drivers booked in. A lot of whom had not done NW before so didn't exist on the regional database. Many had come over from previously racing NE or MW, so had to have thier details entered or updated manually.

Other than that the PC was on full auto with all timings trimmed to minimum... Pre-registration is definately a good idea but will only save you 30 mins maybe a little more. The overwhelming factor was 13 heats of drivers instead of the usual 6 - 8.

So really the meeting needs to start at least 2 hours earlier if you want to finish for 6.
