Default SC10 Battery strap / Lipo packs

Hi Guys,

Did any of you have to cut away some of the battery strap on the SC10 so you could use hard case 2S lipo packs?

The strap goes over the area and blocks where you plug in the 4mm. plugs into the battery

I had to chop away some of it so I could put the plugs into the lipo....

I've been at the battery strap on my truck with a dremel, basically so I can move the pack all the way back for a little more traction Doing this opened up an area towards the rear of the truck where I can see all of the connectors. (I've cut the foam spacer about 1/3rd at approx a third of it's length to give me some options also).

With the packs I am using (LRP 5300 40C) you can actually fit the connectors under the strap when soldered up side entry stylee and it all clamps down nicely.

The FT carbon brace solves the problem, but I was told it is not available in the UK yet (from CML) a few weeks back, I am yet to bother ordering one from the states.

Got one from CML last week. Nice piece of shiny blue kit. Can now position the cells anywhere right back to tower base.

I've drilled 2 holes in the wide front part of the original bat strap for the corally's to go through.. works a treat but lipo is now confined to that position! Does moving lipo back really help with traction or make the truck tail happy?(should i say happier!)

On dry astro with kit tyres, my truck felt pretty well planted. Not at all tail happy In fact I was actually looking for a bit more steering!!

I should have thought to move the battery forward

Good to hear the FT battery straps are available, I shall be investing in one of those shortly
