Default Speed Control Setup

Hi, Im pretty new to this and looking for some info. When im putting power down out of a corner i get a bit of a lull and not instant power.
Any one know which settings would need changing on the ESC?

I run a Losi Excelorin and 6.5 motor.

Thanks in advance Adam..

Try the ESC Acceleration setting, which can only be done via the PC interface as it is not an option on the quick setup board. Set it on high and see how that feels.

Also, check that you don't have a negative Exponential setting for throttle on your transmitter - you might even try moving this into the positive.

Then of course the pinion needs to be selected to suit the track size and complexity. If you have fitted a pinion for top speed say 23 and above the low end acceleration will be less than if you were running say a 21 on a short track.

You may be dropping the voltage below the system Lipo cut off point. The ECU shuts down believing the cells have dropped below the safety voltage. The system cuts power, the voltage recovers and the ECU restarts. Remember under heavy load the current goes up but the voltage goes down.
The current is highest at low rpm and max load, therefore once the car is moving the current never pulls the voltage down low enough to trigger the safety cut off because the current is lower. It is only from low speeds and max acc, on a high grip tracks, you'll see the issue.
Lower the cut off voltage point to its minimum for the cells you are running. (NOT too low please!)
Up date the firm wear on the ECU. See the web site. There was an issue with the early code. The system now wait for a 500ms after the low voltage trigger before cutting the power.
Or just accelerate more smoothly

Check the sensor cable too, I know a lot of sensored speedos run a bit like that when they are in sensorless mode.
