Default new rc

Hi am new to the rc world and i was wondering what a good off road car would be? i do hope to be racing the car. and for everything including the battery and radio my budget is about $300. could anyone give me any suggestions i do not mind putting a car together from a kit.

Not a bad setup for a first car. Add a cheap lipo charger and one or two lipos and you're set for racing. The car is very decent and is raceable right out of the box. You might also want to invest in some ball bearings for the wheels and rear axles and you'd be good to go.
