macnum truck

hi everybody had to join site looks very good just a few to start with why has the macnam got a 86 spur and the mad rat got 80 spur plus also can i put the 80 spur on my macnum and are the back wheels the same on the truck and the buggies thanks if anyone can help.

Hi the larger spur is to cancel out the increase in gearing from the larger wheels on the macnum.
The wheels will swap between the macnum and madrat, as will the spur gears, but why would you want to?

hi mate the macnum runs 86-19=11.768 and the mad rat runs 80-21=9.904 sorry if i sound stupid but why is there this much dif have all ready burned out 3 motors clash 21 27 reedy and tamiya blake can thanks for your reply.

if you are burning motors you are geared wrong also your calculations are wrong as that is the internal ratio and you need to take into account the size of the larger truck wheels

hi the spur and motor piuin are what come in the kit on the macnum and the mad rat a friend has never had a prob with his mad rat cant under stand why i have. ansmann have changed the spur and pinuin on the macnum because of the bigger wheels so why does it nit work. if any one has a pinuin size for a 27 stock or 19 stock please could you let me know thanks.

with the 19T stock you should run a 19 or 18 and with a 27T i would be running a 21

thanks for that so those pinuins would be ok on the 86 spur thanks.
