I'm eagerly awaiting the parts to be listed by our German distributor, and I wonder what spares to order along. Of course it is always wise to buy the front arms, c-hubs and steering knuckles, and maybe the rear arms and hub carriers, too. Have the team drivers so far experienced any problems with the bulkhead/ kick-up plate?
My Cougar 2 was prone to breakages in this area. I doubt that the front shock tower will see any damage, considering its (lack of) size...

Seriously? You're asking about what spares to buy for a car that isn't in production yet?
![]() Sorry, that's just really funny. |

I preordered the usual. Arms, castor blocks, hubs, etc. If I think it could break than I ordered that too.

No, it is not. I asked the team drivers, who obviously had a hand in the development of the car and thus should exactly know if e.g. a bulkhead rather than a shock tower is prone to break....

And you're asking about NON production parts from a car that isn't on the market yet. As test drivers, they are looking for weaknesses to fix, and in all likeliness won't find the same problems that the mass market will find in the final car.
The car is not in production yet. The answer to your question can only be answered accurately after people are using the actual car and breaking parts. If you are so worried about breaking parts on a car you don't have yet, order two of the "normal" consumables on every off road car—shock towers, front and rear arms, steering knuckles, shock rods, hinge pins, etc. Or, buy two kits and not worry about any of it. Sorry, I don't mean to offend your sensibilities, but the whole R/C racing world of "the next best thing since sliced bread" always amuses me. The car isn't even out yet, but people are already worried about which parts they are going to break. ![]() |

Love it... well said ![]() I've been out of the RC scene for 20 years, and one thing I've really enjoyed and loved recently is actually driving my current car (X-Pro 2wd) to breaking point...sure it might cost you a few quid every drive, but it means your car evolves for the conditions you drive under. And you learn the limits of the car which makes you a better driver overall. My little budget buggy is now fitted with some cool hop-ups in the places it needs them and I really love the car, I know it personally now, it's no longer just an RC Car it has a personality...might sound odd but I think it's all part of driving and racing ![]() What one person breaks on one track will not be the same at another track, so unless you drive on several tracks just get you're car...drive it and enjoy it till something breaks then you'll know what you will need for 'possible' future spares. I can't wait to start to get to know my CAT SxII... I'm sure she'll be demanding at times just like most women... ![]() J |

Wow! Two replies in a row that are exactly as useful as "I don't know, dude..."
I could also tell you for how long I've been driving RC cars (the original Grasshopper was my first buggy, start calculating if you must), but I don't see the point. Again, this seems to be the price to be paid for a free, public forum... ![]()

With the amount of racing you do I'd definitely get a set of front wishbones in case it drops out of your display case
![]() Are you going to be at the NRW-Cup race in Langenfeld or in Dortmund in April? |

I hope to run in Duisburg in May, Langenfeld in May won't work out for me as my wife will only return from a business trip the day before. I'm not sure about Dortmund yet. That will depend on when I get my buggy...
And by the way, the only thing that broke when falling out of the display case so far was a transmitter antenna! ![]() (*front wishbones, check!*)
