I have just got hold of a XX4 WE and i was wondering if anyone has a set up or a track like EPR, or tight bumpy astro. I have to run it with a stick pack lipo as i run 2wd too with the same cells. So its a tight squeeze behind the motor.
It has a purple spur (84t i think) so what pinion? (6.5t motor) and no diff at the front just a one way. Is there any advice on adding weight to balance the car? It weighs 1530g at the moment, and is 740g/790g side to side and 670g/860g front to back. Any advice is appreciated as i haven't driven 4WD since i had a Cat XLS 18 years ago. Thanks

Hi,
I'm not the best person to help you because I never used at this moment (I'll build my new kit soon) a XX4 WE, but I would like to suggest to take a look at the Setup topics here in this section. P.s.= your avatar remember me my old and loved kit, here some pics http://picasaweb.google.it/lynx75/KyoshoTurboOpmitaMid# regards. |

the xx4 is the easiest to drive but not the most agile....i put the cr rear end on mine. with this rear I put the arms on backwards to shorten the wheelbase quite a bit.
Now the car turns like a b44 and is still the best car over bumps. just an idea, sometime xx4's are just to stuck.

The xx4 ticks every box for me I love mine.
Ive used this setup at a number of tracks and love it.. 4wd Front Spring - Green Oil - 30 Piston - Black Shock Tower Position - 2 Wishbone Position - Middle Camber Link - 3 (long on tower) with 1mm cut off the outer hub Notes--- Modified steering link with 15'g of weight up front too. Diff used Rear Spring - White Oil - 30 Piston - Blue Shock Tower Position - 3 Wishbone Position - Middle VLA - SHORT Camber Link - 5 E Wheelbase - Medium Personally I like to run a diff in the front of mine with the clicker locked. Optional Upgrades modifications xxx-cr Rear wishbones and hubs xxx-cr rear inner hinge pins with e-clips on no more flappy brace. Green Belts all round On the front spindel carrier file the little bump off where the ball stud sits so it is flush. Run CVD's in the front. E-speed steering rack Alloy motor clamp Long screw and countersunk washer on the steerign ball crank Flip the rear pivot block dremel a small round in it for clerence on the out drives. Change the plastic outdrives to steel ones. I used the xxx-cr one then dremmel a flat spot to allow to fit xx4 diff plates. I run the stick pack down one side and i run about 150 grams of lead on the servo side and nothing on the battery side.. ![]() A
