yep, had that problem with mine when it was a month old.

Did a full sunday racing with no problems, then switched on tuesday to configure braking for wednesday racing and it was completely dead, no lights no power and would not be recognised by pc software.

sent it back to horizon hobby, as original supplier had no stock and was told by tech support that controller had died.

replacement was sent with the latest 2.9 firmware on and so far(touch wood) has been working fine.

there are numerous problems with these units, if you get a good one then they seem ok otherwise there are loads of horror stories about them.

The losi motors are really good but would use a different ESC next time.

Bought mine new in November last year, arrived on a Tuesday sent it back on wednesday to Horizon UK (excellent customer service) they sent me a new one, that lasted about a 3 weeks returned it they sent another new one that only lasted 2 weeks sent it back and asked for refund, they returned it again but i sent it back to shop and they gave me refund.
To many faults to list, and i hate unreliable equipment so there was no way i could live with this.
I must say that Horizon Hobbies UK gave me a great service, just a shame about the product.

Alternatively I bought mine secondhand about 1 year ago, use it with an x11, updated the firmware and it's been utterly faultless.
It seems the majority of problems were with the older versions and the new ones have better reliability.
