Default Noisy Running

any ideas how i can quiten down the car when its running ??
the meshing is ok as ive fiddled around with it and what ever spacing there is the car is still very loud..
could it be a dodgy spur or pinion ???

The slipper pads may need replacing.

Just a thought

Try a diff pinion and spin the wheels up....if that doesnt work try a diff spur, if that doesnt work spin the tranny up with no pinion attached, if not it's the motor.
I really should retype that

Take your gear box apart and have a look. Make sure you grease your shaft before putting it back in the 'box though..

my last 2 B4's have ended up sounding really noisy...... i think its just the effect of a high mileage on the gearbox internals

My B3's were always super silent after years of abuse!
My current B4 and my old one (now sold over a year ago) are both still silent.
Normally when i hear a bad sounding gearbox it's got grit in it. If it has grit and has been munching itself it might have damaged the gears causing the noise.
If you spend time cleaning all the gears, casing and lubing them before resealing the case it will last a long time, way past when the diff needs rebuliding.

i'm asuming by that comment, you're reffering to your s4? (both gearboxes). look for wear on cvds, dodgy bearings or even the spacing.

my bj4 runs quite quietly.. as does my b4.

make sure the spur is correctly round also.. my last spur was abit ovalish in shape and caused some meshing issues!
