Default XXXT-CR SCT build.

Hey guys since Losi cant make a SCT like it should be i decided to mod my CR truck into a SCT.
Here is some pics of what i have done so far.

Well i made some progress this morning. I took a piece of scap plywood i had with melamine on one side and squared it up to use for a chassis guide board.
Here is a few pics im going to end up stretching the tub first getting it all squared away and then start making the C/F chassis.
Here i have screwed the T-plate to my board and squared it up to make sure everything is straight.

This pic shows exactly how much it will be stretched when i graft the two tubs together.

This pic is of the chassis at ride height.

I will be getting another chassis today and hopefully have the two grafted together later
Ok i got the chassis cut and grafted together. If anyone is going to attempt this and you have a chop saw or a mitre saw this will be your best benefit.
The first two pics show the two chassis cut at the proper points.

The next pics show the truck assembled as a roller.
The sanded parts on the side of the tub are going to get either G4 or some aluminum stiffener bonded into the tub for strength for now.
Please excuse the Associated shocks for now my Losi shocks are on my Sc10 and will soon be put back on this truck

Pic with the body proped up for a visual

Got a little more done tonight i took some 1/16th in FR4/G10 trimmed it to shape to fit in the tub then multi drilled it and laminated it into the tub.
I am still not sure what i am going to do about the bottom yet, I have thrown around the idea of lining the chassis bottom and the battery tray in Carbon Cloth and then resin it to the chassis but im not sure yet i might just use fiberglass for this experiment as i dont have any C/F cloth at the moment.
Here is a pic of the laminated parts in the tub. After it cures i will go thru it and sand it smooth its a little bumpy at the moment.

Here are a few updates as of tonight.
So far i mounted XXX-CR rear hubs and MF2 Axle shafts for tonight.
I also have added SC10 body mounts and a J Concepts Slash body as they were out of the SC10 body.
I am almost finished up with suspension mock up and rebuilding the Losi shocks when i get some more done i will add pics as i go.

The point is since Losi cant make a Race truck instead IMO make a fail or an RTR i would make one off of a proven platform. SC10 parts yes but all major components are LOSI.

Got the battery strap made tonight here is a few pics.
I wanted to be able to still use the pin in front so i came up with
this idea.

Here are some random pics of the rear arms and hubs for reference if someone wants to see what the rear looks like without tires.

This is how the axles at full suspension droop.

Default xxxnt conversion to LIPO

I have just joined as a member and noticed your project a few weeks ago. sorry for being nosey I had to comment really intersting project . Being a real losi fan at heart I have made a carbon conversion kit of my own cant let X Factory have it all their own way you can use both 24mm high and 31mm lipos. I have used the XXXNT gear box thats pretty strong popped in a 6000 MAh Vampire LIpo pack. My last revision is to switch from the 32DP gearing to use associated 78 tooth 48 DP spur gear. It really has great torque. finally I made some clear lexan splash guards for the wonderful weather we are having and a rear alloy gearbox suppport. Keep up the good work.

The wheels of the SC10 fit direct onto the XXX-T stub axles.
This truck is all XXX-T in the front no mods done except to shorten the stub axle to make the width right to fit under the body.

very cool truck but i noticed something wrong with the truck in your pics. you have the tyres round the wrong way. the tyres on the rear need to go on the front and vica versa. very good idea though. i was looking at one the other day and thinking of doing it myself.

In my experience, the B4/T4/SC10 is much stronger and stands up better in crashes than Losi's do. Nice work though
