Default How to flip transmision on MI4?

Hey just got my Schumacher MI4 today and was wondering if anyone has a guide to flipping the transmision for lipos ( spur gear on battery side enabling you to put electronics closer to centre of car ) Would be much appreciated

On the MI4-LP it is already done for you but alot of people have done it on the original MI4's.

Well, at a guess, you would need to turn your layshaft round, and flip your rear diff halves over, but keep the diff screw on the same side as it is now, whether that is possible, I don't know.

I think you can just flip the diff over without changing the diff screw, as long as the grub screw is in and tight. Unless they've changed the design... That's all I did on my 3.5 and I never had any diff loosening issues.

im still quite confused on how to do it LOL

This is a very new car to me and ive only ever had Xrays before.

Hopefully someone has a proper guide.

Simple job - flip spur 180degrees - layshaft isn't needed to flip - it's just easier to take it out from other side. Then flip diff 180degrees - as mentioned be sure that grub screw is tight inside. Don't forget about rear belt - it has to be in new position now.
I'll try to make some photos of my car tonight, if you want.

Grub screw is from other side as screw is in diff - it's there to avoid loosening diff.

I'm liking the thermometer tape on the motor clamp... Seems like a good idea. (I presume that is what it is)
