Default Button and Raikkonen

Button has signed for McLaren, Raikkonen is off to the WRC if he can find someone to take him.

DCM, do you know what figure Button settled for? I know he was asking for 8Million, but a three-year, 6Million a year contract was on the table?

Regards,

Julius.

he is not the best driver they could had, think kimi or rosberg are a better bet.lets be honest,he only won the championship coz his car was better than the others.as the season went on and the other cars caught up,he did struggle!!.still nice to see a brit as champ thou

This is true...but.....how many world champs in the past had the best car??? The car being better makes the driver seem better than the rest!!!
I agree, very glad to see Button win the 09 season

I must admit I am stoked to see two brits not only win two consecutive champs, but to be on the same team! Unfortunately though, the "better driver" argument will never be sorted in F1. The cars play such a varying factor. I would like to see the entire grid from F1 race something like stock hatch, or mr2 champs, as only with a true level playing field would you see the best driver shine. That said thought this season has produced some awesome races and very close driving. Looking forward to next year!

I bet when the McLaren is spot on next year, Button will be faster than Hamilton, but when the car is a bit toss, Hamilton will wrestle faster lap times out of it

I think you summed it up reasonably well in such a short post.

Default button and hamilton

i kinda like hamiltons style when he drives but i dissagree with dave c i think the only way button will lose out is if the new car is a bit of a handfull, lewis is an agressive driver he like a car thats loose but if the new car is good i can't see lewis getting a look in jenson is super smooth his style of driving is a joy to watch plus he is not heavy on the engines and most of all the tyres.

roll on next season.

I think Mclaren have covered all bases and pulled a blinder here.

agressive drive - check
smooth driver - check
worked on 2010 car for a while - check
allowed to produce own road cars - check

Merc doing wank next season... hopefully...

I'm just glas Ross Brawn got a championship with his cars as team BrawnGP, that guy is a legend and deserves(creates) success

Brawn to Mclaren?

main point will be Jenson likes driving a heavier car (was mostly faster than all when fully fueled this season) and with no re-fueling next season if they get even equipment JB could have the edge...

if the McLaren steers, like it steered at the end of the season, with a full fuel load, should be good....

I was disappointed to hear button (apparently) said "he is joining a team that go racing to win" after winning the championship with Brawn...He was the one with the problem most of the time, not the car (as Rubens proved alot towards the end of the season!)

I've not seen what changes are happening to quali next year though with the fuel rule change? Will they just go out in final qualy with low fuel again?

Anyway i think Hamilton will hand button his arse in the majority of races next year =)
