Default VCS2 - proper installation?

Hey guys

just spent the past 90mns redoing my shocks and installing a vcs2 kit on my FT B4... And I struggled to get it right.

first issue: the shocks caps screw down to the end of the thread on the rear shock bodies, but not on the front... just impossible to get them screwed all the way. I measure the thread with my calipers, and there indeed is about 0.12mm of difference front and rear I think, but it seems that the gap is more when measuring it "by eye"... Am I getting it wrong? I ended putting the o-rings (those that seal the old cap to the body) back on to make it up, but it still is suboptimal

second issue: the black inserts can rotate in the shock caps... and they can do it pretty easily... which means the bladder is anything but well maintained in there, by my standards at least. Again - am I doing something wrong?

Overall the bleeding can be done symmetrically with your eyes closed and your left wrist tied (in you back) to your right ankle, the "feeling" on the bench is fantastic, well, as with all properly done CV shocks, but I'm worried about that whole thing's reliability... can anyone please share perspective?

Please don't make this a discussion of whether stock (emulsion) shocks are or aren't better than CV shocks... if you believe the stock shock system is better, good for you, but you aren't helping, so please keep your opinion to yourself, I just would like input from the vcs2 users

Thanks!
Paul

I don't use the bladder shocks, but you can try putting a shim in the top cap. It's something I have had to do with my touring car.

I bought a VCS2 conversion kit for my B4 and couldn't screw the new caps on, it was almost like they were a different thread. They've been sat in my box ever since. Not sure if this is the same problem you have??
