Default LRP/Nosram speedo probs

Hi all,
Just putting this up here to see if anyone has any idea whats wrong with my 'leccy 8th'.......

I turn it on, everything is fine. I put the car down and push throttle, it moves for about 3 feet or so then dies, Speedo is still on but has the red light on and the blue light flashing. Then after a few mins it sort of, settles down and the speedo goes back to normal, but when I try to wigge steering or push the throttle, the speedo dies again.
If I trn it on and just wiggle the steering it does the same after a while but doesn't take as long to come back to life.
Its as if it taking all the power from the speedo and then it recharges itself allowing you to move something again until it uses all the power...then it dies again.........then comes back to life as if it recharges again.

I've checked all the connections and the all are ok. The reciever is fine as its the one I use in the 12th.
I've tried different lipos and the same problem occurs.

Any ideas?

Is this the new LRP SPX8? If so, what voltage are you running it on? Do you have a separate BEC?

yes, running 4s lipo, so technically 14.8v but i know fully charged they top 16.8v. Could that be the problem? do they just need running down a little?

I dont have a receiver pack, but ran the car on 2s today and it ran fine, so i am thinking that the voltage is the only thing it could be.
Tried a different link wire too after running the 2s, thinking it could be my soldering, but going back to 4s with a new link wire still has the same effect.

The speedo should handle the 14.8v just fine. Its build for it, so it better cope.
Checked the sensor cable? LRP sensor cables are generally very poor and break easily.

The SPX8 cannot run above a 7.4V pack without using a separate BEC, or a receiver pack.

It is the 1/10 SPX, with a different sticker on it.

I was very disappointed with the LRP effort on the 1/8 scale front. Particularly as the motors aren't great quality either and run a bit hotter than the Tekins, Neus and Castles out there.
