Hi,could some one let me know the best way to fill and bleed the xxx shocks,i must be doing somthing wrong as no mater how slow i do it,when i pull the shaft out it shoots back in,iv done a search but cant find anything specific

Int it supposed to do that until there is a spring on it?

Mark when I did mine I only le my shaft go halfway in and then tighten them up.
As they haven't got a diaphragm too displace the shaft volume. Tim |

its the other way,when i pull it out it shoots back inside,its ok the other way and only comes out a bit

it's OK for them to suck back in from full extension.
Fill, half screw in, push piston in so oil bleeds out, tighten. Pump them to emulsify the air, slacken the end just enough to let the pressure out, retighten. Don't worry if you can hear a little oil in them, as an emulsion shock this is not a problem

I have another method which works nicely too.
Fill the shock body to just below the beginning of the threads. Push the seal packet so that it is touching the ball end. Drop the piston into the oil and push down slowly. Screw in the seals packet slowly(!). The excess oil will seep out and you're done. Found this quicker and easier than the other method but both work fine. |
