Default 5.5 bonded gearing

have try 17,19, 20 pinions and it is still doing about 5to 6 laps and shutting down with both motor an esc hot my 6.5 sinted runs at 84/26 and is fine for the 5.5 bonded should it be more like 84/23.
or is 17 wright an something is wrong

16 or 17t pinion on 81t spur would be about right for a bonded 5.5

no matter what track size or my driving style if geared right it should do more than 6 25second laps before overheating.surely

that sounds like more of a electics issue rather than a gearing issue.

Hey Pizzaman, It's worth dropping the pinion off and checking that the drive train is all running free too. You may have already done this, so just a suggestion along side finding a base setting for your gearing.
